Using Google TV

We recently worked with Innofresh for their odor absorber product called FridgeIt and learned a lot about Google TV. We had minimal budget to build out a 60 second and 30 second cut down version of their commercial. We figured if we could get the ball rolling and get exposure for their product then we could go back and produce a full scale commercial spot. The key factor, no matter how polished the commercial or video spot, is that you can get national TV exposure using Google TV Ads (http://www.google.com/adwords/tvads/index-b.html). You obviously have to get your commercial created and we certainly advise doing it the right way if you have the budget, but you can get it done guerrilla style if you have to.

The tricky part is then to upload the commercial to Google TV and that was a little painstaking for us, but the try, try, try again motto worked for us. Google could probably make the process more user friendly, but once the spot is uploaded you have a lot of options at your fingertips. You can decide how much you want to spend and what channels, shows and time slots you want your commercial to air on. With Innofresh (http://www.innofresh.com/innofresh-products/fridge-it/), they bid on channels that dealt with timely topics, cooking themes and home design shows. After 2 weeks of being on Google TV they have over 500,000 impressions and only spent $230.00 for the air time. We will need more time to see all of the benefits, but Google TV is a nice option if you know how to take advantage of it. We will have more info on this over the coming weeks.

High Quality Video Shoot and Marketing Campaign with MIAT

Just wanted to share our recent shoot experience with the Michigan Institute of Aviation Technology. My partner Gewan Brown and I got an opportunity to work with MIAT thru Gewan’s company, Paijait (www.paijait.com). Mantis and Paijait work closely together on most projects. MIAT is the perfect example of a company looking to enhance its brand visibility as it expands into the growing fields of aviation and alternative energy.

We are in the early stages of a campaign with MIAT that will include producing a High School Recruiting Video, Industry Relations Video, Web Videos, several Print pieces and possibly Commercials and Infomercials. With our modular campaign approach we are gathering most of the video footage and photos we need up front to develop their digital asset library.

The four day shoot in the Detroit area was the beginning phase and went very well. We shot over 20 interviews (mainly on green screen) and also got the opportunity to shoot b-roll with Liebherr, Pinnacle Airlines (at the Detroit airport), MIAT Campus footage and footage at PentaStar (the pimp my ride of Aviation).

We used 2 HD Cameras for the video shoot (Panasonic 3700 and Sony EX-1). Our Directory of Photography, Dave Boersch did an excellent job along with our Detroit crew (Sean Demers/Audio, Doug Trevethen/Grip, Cheryl Seprino/Make-up and Andy Gould/PA). The footage is awesome and we are looking forward to showing everyone the final product!
